the pygmy hippo is a small, dark grey mammal found in africa! they are not just a miniature hippo but more like a cousin of the better known common hippo, so although they share physical features there is actually many differences between these two species! pygmy hippo's have a rounder shorter snout, with smaller, less potruding nostrils! there feet are less webbed because they spend less time in the water than on land. they are nocturnal and live in rainforests rather than in rivers, unlike there cousins they prefer to live alone! they weigh around 160-275kgs and are born at a weight of 5-6kgs! they grow very quickly! unlike many other species of animals when they meet ...
