Sometimes it’s easier for me to choose items if I have a theme or specific event in mind… when this dress jumped off the page at me, rose gold and sparkle suddenly became the theme. Then as I gathered all the other pieces, it was easy because I had a sense of direction… if that makes any sense, ha ha!
Also if you are not super confident using lines or edging details…first-think of them as “jewelry” for your design (you want enough but not to much) and second-frame it! The idea is to draw your eye to the center, so your outfit will stand out…not to overwhelm it or detract from it.
