Wild + Heart. Lion + Lamb. Doer + Dreamer.
This is a #symbolic #selfportrait for @sundancer16 #symbolismchallenge.
Okay so tbh, this piece has so many layers of symbolism (both personal and universal) that I don't think I can do every item justice. But here are the main points:
Lion + Lamb:
Rae is short for Rachel. Rachel means "lamb of God". [It also means "beautiful and well-favored one," which I love and actually has played a significant role in my life but not what I'm focusing on here]. Growing up though, I gave off a very opposite of a lamb vibe: I was labeled strong, confident, tall, bossy, decisive, etc. I was my parents' "little lion." Even into college and my young adult year...
