SOUL TIDE
Confliction.
Between mind and body.
Solitude and presence.
Mystery and recognition.
My soul is like a tide,
A force in opposition,
Pushing and pulling,
And never at rest.
Standing on the shore I am free.
Nature flows through me,
And speaks,
I am one with…
But like a kite,
I am stopped by a string,
Unable to soar into oblivion.
It ties me to earthly things,
Like family…
Duty…
Goals and dreams…
I am more than a mind,
…A body,
Grounded by my need for companionship,
And simple words such as,
