"The Rose Within" series is complete!!! The explanation is long so I'll put it into several parts in the comments. But the overall theme is this character is rich and controlled by her mother and a desire to please her, but eventually realizes she can't and rebels in anger.
Outfit 9 is the resolution. She has contrast with the sharp blacks and a boldness with the glitter, but still uses designer and a red tint on her lips to acknowledge her background in a way that doesn't overshadow her own personality. The mini bag returns as a representation of her preferences in fashion and the signature jewelry she has been battling to accept. Finally, her hair is looser and dyed black to match her empowered nature.
Outfit 8 is defeat. She returns to her mother's style but shoves in a couple elements of herself in her last ditch attempts to be her own person and the too scandalous top is her last attempt at rebellion. But overall, she is regressing to her need for approval with the overall tone.
Outfit 7 is the climax. It is a lot closer to her style but the only contrast is the eye makeup, which shows she's distancing herself from her mother at the expense of her own tastes and the overly cutesy vibe displays a power imbalance. This is where she goes the furthest because the rebellion is no longer blamed on other people, it's truly her hatred for her mother.
Outfit 6 brings some more of herself into it with the same necklace as outfit 1, but the experimental grungy look isn't cohesive as she isn't truly grunge and comes from wealth.
Outfit 5 is the turning point where she feels she can't measure up and tries to rebel. We see her signature contrasting style but it isn't truly herself either. The pink is too bold, because she's still stuck in the bold colors of her mother, and the edgier tones feel forced. It's mismatched in fabrics because she's playing around with a style that isn't her own.
