What is #preppystyle? As stated in the previous post about the #preppyaesthetic, it has been around for a long time, which is why it is considered one of the most #classic and #timeless styles. The #preppy look originated in New England during the 1910s at Ivy League colleges and prep schools. (Think lightacademia and darkacademia.) #IvyLeague fashion gained popularity during the 1950s and 1960s as designers began picking up the trend.
