I’m still extremely hurt and angry. The fact that people could be so cruel is something I couldn’t believe but to watch someone do that to another person in broad daylight, in the middle of the street really broke me. I’m not American in the slightest but I know the insecurities that I deal with for being a black African girl... the fear of leaving my country because I don’t think I could handle racism... the fear my mom has for my brothers studying in a country far from us and i finally understand why she calls and texts them everyday because BLACK PEOPLE are treated differently REGARDLESS of where they’re from.
