"Modern Day Pocahontas" The Disney version is so watered down from the true, heartbreaking story of what really happened to Chief Powhatan's daughter Matoaka, or "Pocahontas" as she was affectionately nicknamed which means "playful one." Research her real life story if you like, it's very interesting. Even so, Pocahontas, the fictional fable, remains my favorite Disney Princess for her courage, strength, bravery, and noble heart. Grandmother Willow says to Pocahontas, "Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one" which is probably the best quote of the whole movie, and how true is it, amirite?
