"you forget that i am someone with nothing to lose. and i couldn't be lost either if i'm nothing", she whispered through a bitter smile.
her long fingers cupped the glass elegantly, and she smelled the liquid before taking a sip.
"but do you trust me?", she continued, arching her dark eyebrows. her gaze slowly followed from the man's eyes to his hands, resting on the table in gloves.
man's eyes seemed to have darkened, but his lips formed a smirk soon after. he dragged the glass from her side of the table, but her hands soon covered his.
"so you don't", she challenged.
"i trust no one, miss morelli. but you do have the charm."
