A man I used to know once described "fellow-feeling" as the occasional and wondrous moments in which one is seized with overwhelming pathos for his fellow man.
In other words, it's that rare sudden gut-twisting feeling of warmth and love for every other human you see: the drivers of every car you see on the freeway, the strangers in the airplanes flying above you, the passers-by on the streets. The beauty it is to even exist, here, together.
